A beautiful German illustration depicting the tender Madonna and Child with a vibrant hues of Blue, Red, Yellow, and Greens. The more you look this painting, the more you begin to notice them leaving St. Joseph's workshop in Nazareth and the grape leaves once again bearing their leaves, a symbol of Christ's divinity and his youth before the grapes have begun to spring forth. A beautiful piece for any part of the home and a wonderful gift for a convert to the Catholic Faith given the history of the artist. (Read below)

This piece was painted by Eduard Steinbruck (1802-1882), who studied in Berlin to be a painter, moving to Dusseldorf and then to Rome. Though he was originally a Protestant, he read the visions of the Dolorous Passion of Christ by Anne Catherine Emmerich in his late 30s, and some 10 years later converted to the Catholic Faith after a series of disagreements with his Protestant clergy.
