"Ite ad Joseph" means "Go to Joseph." He is seen represented here as the head of the the Holy Family; the highest example of Holy Patriarchy in the Family to all men. He is dropping roses as gifts to those below signifying the many favors he grants in Christ's name to his petitioners.

This beautiful painting of St. Joseph, The Blessed Virgin, and the Christ Child is located in the Basilica Maria Ausiliatrice in Turin (Torino), Italy. It was painted by Tommaso Lorenzone during the years of 1934 -1938.

The Shrine was built in the place of the site of the martyrdom of the Turinese saints Solutor, Adventor, and Octavius which was revealed by the Blessed Virgin Mary in a one of the many famous dreams of St. John Bosco. The Basilica Maria Ausiliatrice (built during the years of 1865-1868) was originally part of the home for poor boys founded by St. John Bosco, and now contains both his remains and 6,000 relics of other saints. The basilica also enshrines an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title Mary, Help of Christians (the namesake of the basilica)
